Macmillan Cancer Support

After a bad 2010 through injury and nearly loosing my left foot caused by a back crash in World Superbikes i’ve decided to take on a select few challenges.

What better way by challenging yourself physically for a charity!

Virgin Active London Triathlon Sprint race! 750m Swim / 20km Bike / 5km Run

I need to raise a minimum of £600 for Macmillan after which another page will be set up for Acorns Childrens Hospice, CJ Riders fund and Isle of Man Hyperbaric medical facility which are my 3 chosen Charities.

Movember

I’ve donated my face to Movember! Now I’m asking you to make a small donation to support my moustache and the 1 in 10 men that are diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Acorns Children’s Hospice

Acorns Children’s Hospice offers nursing care and support for children who have life limiting or life threatening illnesses, and their families.

A network of care and support services are on offer at Acorns including: nursing care, end-of-life care and bereavement support; short breaks for the children, complimentary therapies and support groups for the whole family.

There are over 200 life limited children and their families living in Worcestershire, and the demand for Acorns services grows daily.

Short breaks for children give them and their families a break from the daily routine, and offer a safe environment for the children to stay and enjoy many activities not available at home.

End-of-life care and the ‘special bedrooms’ gives families a private area to say goodbye to their child.

Acorns also has a Community Team who offer support to the whole family 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week, including practical and emotional support for parents, special help for siblings and bereavement support for as long as it is needed.

Acorns helps children and families going through the unthinkable to make the most of every day and create happy memories. Acorns becomes a lifeline for local families who would face a much tougher challenge coping alone.

All of Acorns vital services are completely free of charge to the children and families who need them. Acorns relies on voluntary donations for the majority of its income.

To find out how you can help make a difference to a local family in need please call the Acorns fundraising office on tel: 01905 761220, or visit the website: www.acorns.org.uk
