PR Racing Announces Rider Line-up for 2012 BSB Championship

Simon Andrews and Gary Mason complete PR Racing’s BSB Elite Team line-up for the 2012 BSB Championship.

Julian Mosquera, Team Development Director said. “We are delighted to retain Simon for another year and have Gary Mason join the team. Having two riders of their calibre and experience shows our commitment and determination to step up to the challenge of contending the 2012 BSB Championship. This is the first year all teams will be racing on a level playing field, so given last year’s development and the results we achieved with Simon, we all feel up beat going into the full Evo championship.“

On the team’s preparation he added. “We have a bike ready for Gary to have a run out on, so our testing schedule will start early in the new year. Simon’s testing will start after he has been given the all clear to ride, which we hope to be around mid-January.”

Simon Andrews said. “I am really pleased to be staying with the team for 2012 on the Kawasaki UK supported ZX-10R. Until the accident last year, all our planning and development was coming together really well, as we had regular podium finishes. Not finishing last season (due to an injury sustained at Snetterton) has made me more determined than ever, as I feel I have a point to prove.”

Gary Mason commented. “I have known PR Racing for a number of years, so when the opportunity to ride for the team became available, I was delighted to take it. The energy, enthusiasm and passion for success in the team are really high. I know with that commitment and the right backing, we will do well on the track.”

On the change to Evo rules for 2012, Gary observed.”Both Simon and I are old-school riders. Not having traction control and other complex electronics controlling the bike suits our riding style. As a rider, you should feel the bike and know when to push.” He also added. ”Our wealth of knowledge and experience on the Kawasaki will be a real advantage. This is an exciting time for the championship and we cannot wait to be back on the track in preparation for the start of the season.”
